A portion size is always the same no regaurdless of being a meal or snack. Look at your hand; servings of meats, starches and whole grains should be no bigger then your palm. Servings of fresh fruits and veggies should be as big as your open hand and fats should be no bigger then your thumb. As for eatting often, think every two to three hours. It is normal to be hungry, developing this pattern of eating will spur hunger and increase the time spent metabolising food for energy. Calorie burn is elevated for one hour after eating. Make sure you are eating healthy, minimally processed foods (do you know all the words on the ingredients list). Blending proteins and whole grains or fiber rich foods will help you feel full, even in small realalistic portions. Think about what you eat and enjoy it.
